Blemish (poem)

Poetry

Mounds mar the landscape,
Needle-prick the ooze.
Squeeze around its edges,
Ugly purged, beauty remains.

Slice a blade,
Across my face.
Skin regrow smooth,
Baby fresh start.

Adolescent insecurity,
Face curtained by hair.
Inner trauma subtly visible,
Roots outgrowing their container.

Hunt (poem)

Poetry

Set a trap,
Lie in wait.
Capture love,
Contain beauty.

Forest creature,
Delicate limbs.
Step wisely,
Skeptical bait.

Snapped ankles,
Death sentence.
Sensitive soul,
Languish quickly.

Hello Kitty (poem)

Poetry

Blankly stare,
No meows escape,
Inoffensive in her beauty.

Doll her up,
Dress her down,
Feline chameleon changing.

Girl or cat?
She’ll never tell,
But greet her if you must.

Acknowledge her name,
Voice what she cannot,
I see you, hello there, Kitty.
