Virgin (poem)

Poetry

Anticipation sends shivers,
Fated moment has arrived.
Foreign feelings to consider,
Hoping it wasn’t lies.

Uncertain of progression,
Waiting for a sign.
Impressionable susceptibility,
Playbook getting written.

Blanks beg to be filled,
Information awaiting.
Answered questions to share,
Or buried deep as a secret.

Kiss and don’t tell,
Be gentle in the night.
Set the tone for forever,
In a moment’s burning light.

Resilience (poem)

Poetry

Stabbed in the trauma,
Inflicted once again.
Scar tissue rendered flexible,
Elastic armor shielding.

Walk through fire unscathed,
Witches mothering cats.
Fury rains with curses,
Gifts to bless withheld.

Healing power directed inward,
Inner strength grows within.
Pot brimming with soil,
Roots spread to prepare for bloom.

Integrate our fractures,
Accept each broken part.
Sand down, buffer, polish,
Groomed all around.

Fragile Man (poem)

Poetry

He’s attracted when you’re vulnerable,
And repelled when you’re strong.
He loves it when you’re crying,
Stab you and give you a hug.

The glass man wears judicial robes,
Shattered into pieces by his own gavel.
Shards of self to use as bait,
While a collage would be more pleasing.

Resentful lamprey seeking vengeance,
Prowling the ocean’s floors.
For sick wounded bleeding creatures,
Sharks are not the only predators.

Rejecting attitudes of masculinity,
Denies him of flesh and bone.
He’ll graft himself into your body,
Poison your mind with his own.

Intimidating (poem)

Poetry

My mind inspires fear,
My eyes cut through your skin.
You detest me instinctively,
Your flaws swell in my presence.

Forced into isolation,
Spurned at every turn.
Every word I speak is screeching,
They call me a shrill banshee.

Admiration from afar,
Dare not ever approach.
Imagining sharp teeth in my mouth,
Phantom bites cause resentment.

Social death sentence rendered,
Too intense to be accepted.
Forced to extremes against her will,
Executed at the border.

Nature (poem)

Poetry

I go to nature,
To heal.
Mother Earth rocks me,
With her gentle rhythms.

Solitude in my womb,
Replenish lost energy.
Expansive air fills me,
Stretch the vessel encasing me.

Truth outside of conditioning,
Found in biological forms.
Emotion must follow nature,
Reason guides behavior.

Quell my rage,
Center my soul.
Anger sharp as a knife,
Protection in the world of man.

Chaste (poem)

Poetry

Kiss or be kissed,
Active or passive.
Whore or Madonna,
Rape or immaculate conception?

Sexuality harnessed,
Wild beast to tame.
Shame for escaping,
Slink silently back into the cage.

Disguised in public,
Secrets in the sheets.
Sneaky and deceiving,
Succubus seduction.

Sluts and witches,
Married to the devil.
Slave to no man,
Immortal feminine power.

Wish (poem)

Poetry

Girlish fantasies,
Fanciful in nature.
Dreaming of a world,
That needs no escape.

Love is abundant,
Rolling in riches.
Transcendence universal,
Growing eternal souls.

Dirty gritty streets,
Inescapable struggle.
Beasts of burden labor,
Life beyond survival.

Courage in our hearts,
Flooded and energized by fear.
Beat back the danger,
Protect our salvation.
