Unrequited (poem)

Poetry

Foolish thoughts escape,
Tender heart aches acutely.
Blood staining sleeves,
Chest hole gaping.

Proffer my affections,
Spurned quite soundly.
Nursing the hurt,
Return for a pounding.

Stupid courage perhaps,
Plunge blind into battle.
Wounded yet bandaged,
Our unrequited lover.
