Fire (poem)

Poetry

Feeding pages,
Edges curl.
Blackness spreads,
Ink spill on paper.

Coaxing, teasing,
Playful seduction.
Invite to touch,
Promising warmth.

Forests blaze,
Candles burn.
Fuel for growth,
Limitless potential.

Cleansing destruction,
Harness its power.
Overgrown suffocation,
Smoke breathing free.

Ashes remain,
All else inconsequential.
Clearing space,
Floating up to the sky.

Puke (poem)

Poetry

I’m sick again.

I need to throw up.

Vomit you out of me.

Fingers in my throat,

Slimy spit down my arm,

Press and purge.

I won’t let these seeds take root,

Corrupting my soil.

I cast out everything you put in me,

The taint on my soul.
