Horses (poem)

Poetry

Toss my mane,
Flare my nostrils.
Tame me if you dare.

Gentle nature,
Harnessed power,
In spirit, still defiant.

Work me if you must,
Labor, burden, let it be.
Yet my yearning never ceases.

Break me in,
Saddle me up.
Twisted spines can unfurl.

Flashing hooves,
Broken skulls,
Shattered corrals await you.
