Virgin (poem)

Poetry

Anticipation sends shivers,
Fated moment has arrived.
Foreign feelings to consider,
Hoping it wasn’t lies.

Uncertain of progression,
Waiting for a sign.
Impressionable susceptibility,
Playbook getting written.

Blanks beg to be filled,
Information awaiting.
Answered questions to share,
Or buried deep as a secret.

Kiss and don’t tell,
Be gentle in the night.
Set the tone for forever,
In a moment’s burning light.

Prey (poem)

Poetry

I froze because,
I wasn’t yet ready to kill.
I was ready to die,
But I survived.

Animals need their instinct,
Death is always visible.
Anxious and urgent,
Morose and depressed.

Smell danger in the air,
Learn the scent of predators.
I was living in their dens,
They’ve learned to follow me too.

Tracking and evasion,
I know both their ways.
Hunt me and be hunted,
Ambush and strike from a distance.

Thumb (poem)

Poetry

Nails made of glass,
Pressed against bone.
Hidden in meat,
A diamond digs deeper.

Tongue the location,
Kept inside a mouth.
Place of dental safety,
Marked on the right.

Nursing the pain,
Suckling its sweetness.
Stinging cuts numbness,
Proof of inner vitality.

Draw an X on a map,
Hidden treasures lie beneath.
Violent means used to acquire,
Precious jewels stained with blood.

Lashes (poem)

Poetry

Teardrops falling,
Whips keep chasing.
Weights attached,
Legs keep pumping.

Bruised flesh,
Ripped skin.
Fused with the burden,
Anchor in the chest.

Fluttering eyelids,
Keep out the dust.
Sandstorms brewing,
Squint through the clouds.

With a single blink,
You’ll feel the force.
My pain rains down,
Slice through this mess.

Buddha (poem)

Poetry

Eyes cast downward,
Cool observation from above.
Narcissistic delusions,
Dimensional ripples of pain.

Extend out compassion,
Flailing helpless creatures.
Drowning in sorrow,
Oceanic floods.

Emotional intolerance,
Dysfunctional regulation.
Pictures glued to sockets,
Ripped sticker residue remains.

Occupy the mind,
Present in the body.
Astral planes explored,
Cultivating stillness.

Scar (poem)

Poetry

They scream at me,
From my side.
Their voices embedded,
In my flesh.

The lives that life forgot.
Pain with nowhere to go,
Turned inward,
Exploding organs.

Numbed sensitivity.
Infected callous.
Pierce the skin,
Let the sorrow ooze.

Their deaths are overlooked.
Their stories, rewritten.
I’ll live to spite you.
I’ll make it for myself.

We need you, soldier.
The war rages on.
Your experiences, our artillery.
Your agony, our weaponry.

Poltergeist (poem)

Poetry

An echo of a human being.
Divorced from body,
Floating mind,
Destructive force.

Vengeful will,
Cross-dimensional justice.
Violent spirit,
With a lingering agenda.

Malevolent energy,
Tortured in life.
Powerful in death,
Exploding through timelines.

No peace in my heart,
Finality unsettled.
The sentence of forever,
You will pay.
