Ally Chiu received her Bachelor in Arts from New York University with a double-major in Global Liberal Studies and East Asian Studies, and a minor in French. She received her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.
She was born in Midland, Texas, and currently lives in Jersey City, New Jersey with her calico cat, Heresy (Sysy) Chiu.
